Matt began his legal career at Gordon & Rees, representing construction companies and developers in litigation. He then spent four years as in-house counsel for Dillingham Construction Corp., learning the day-to-day operations of a large construction company while handling legal transactions and disputes.
Matt next began a practice focused primarily on serving homebuilders, first handling builder transactions at the law firm Morgan Miller Blair, then as in-house counsel for KB Home, handling transactions and other non-litigation legal matters.
After seven years in the KB Home law department, Matt moved to the business-side, where he spent more than eight years focused on acquiring and developing land, first as director of land acquisitions for KB then as vice president of land for DR Horton.
Matt earned his bachelor of arts degree from UCLA in 1993 and Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1996.
Matt is a California native living in Newport Beach with his wife Suzanne and mutt Bruin.
